Anyone can visit the office and ask to view these documents without being a property owner or giving a reason for the request. That right falls under Title 67 of Oklahoma statutes.

Search Craig County Deed Records Online
Craig County deed records are on the OKCountyRecords.com statewide portal. This free site lets you search indexed land records from home. The database covers Craig County filings and gets updated as the clerk records new documents.
Four search methods are available on the portal. The name search works best when you know who was involved in the transaction. Enter the last name first, then the first name. Pick grantor, grantee, or both. Use the date range and instrument type filters to narrow results. The subdivision search is good for platted areas where you have a lot and block number. The Section-Township-Range search handles rural land described by the public survey system. The fourth option is a document search using an instrument number or book and page reference if you already have it.
Results show the filing date, instrument number, document type, book and page, grantor, grantee, legal description, and a link to view the scanned image.

Craig County Recording Fees
Craig County uses the state fee schedule from Oklahoma Statutes Title 28, Section 32. A conforming deed costs $8.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each added page. The $10.00 records preservation fee applies to every filing. So a one-page deed totals $18.00. A two-page deed comes to $20.00.
Non-conforming documents are more expensive. The first page runs $25.00 and each extra page is $10.00. Documents that fail to meet margin, size, or format rules fall in this group. Plats have separate rates. One block or less costs $10.00 and more than one block is $25.00. If a page has over 25 legal descriptions, each one past that number adds $1.00. Copies cost about $1.00 per page, and certified copies add the certification fee on top of that.
Craig County Deed Filing Rules
To record a deed in Craig County, the document must meet state format standards. It needs to be an original or certified copy. Paper size cannot be larger than 8.5 by 14 inches. A 2-inch top margin is required, with 1-inch margins on the sides and bottom. The deed must be in English and clearly readable. It must have the full names and signatures of all grantors, names and mailing addresses of all grantees, and a complete legal description of the property. A notary acknowledgment with seal is required under Title 16, Section 15 of Oklahoma law.
Since November 2023, all deeds filed in Craig County must have an Alien Land Ownership Affidavit for each grantee. This requirement is from 60 O.S. Section 121. Forms are available on the Oklahoma Attorney General's website. There are different versions for individuals and for business entities. Without the affidavit, the clerk will not accept the deed unless a valid exemption is shown.
Exemptions apply to correction deeds, transfer-on-death deeds, court orders, and deeds to government agencies.
Deed Types in Craig County
The Craig County Clerk records many types of property documents. Warranty deeds are the most common type for home and land sales, giving the buyer full title protection. Quit claim deeds transfer whatever interest a person holds without guaranteeing the title. These turn up in divorces, family transfers, and situations where someone clears their name from a title.
Mortgage filings are another major category. When someone takes a loan to buy property in Craig County, the mortgage gets recorded at the clerk office. Once the loan is paid, a release of mortgage goes on file. Other common filings include mineral deeds, easements, liens, power of attorney documents tied to real estate, and beneficiary deeds that transfer property at death outside of probate.
