McClain County Recording Fees

McClain County charges fees set by Oklahoma Statutes Title 28, Section 32. A conforming deed costs $8.00 for the first page and $2.00 per additional page. The $10.00 records preservation fee applies to every instrument. A one-page deed totals $18.00. Two pages cost $20.00.

Non-conforming documents have higher fees. The first page is $25.00 and each extra page is $10.00. Documents fail to conform when they miss margin requirements, use wrong paper size, or are not in the right format. Plats cost $10.00 for one block or less and $25.00 for more than one block.

Copies run about $1.00 per page. Certified copies include the certification stamp fee.

Filing Deed Records in McClain County

Deeds filed in McClain County must meet Oklahoma's recording standards. The document must be an original or certified copy on paper no bigger than 8.5 by 14 inches. Top margin must be 2 inches. Sides and bottom need 1 inch each. It has to be in English, legible, and include full grantor names with signatures, grantee names with mailing addresses, a specific legal description, and a notary acknowledgment with seal. These rules come from Title 16, Section 15 of Oklahoma law.

An Alien Land Ownership Affidavit must be attached for each grantee as of November 2023. This requirement is from 60 O.S. Section 121. Get the forms from the Oklahoma Attorney General's website.
